I grew up on a small farm in northern Wisconsin. After high school, I joined the United States Air Force and worked as a Cryptologic Language Analyst for four years. After finishing my contract with the USAF, I attended University of Wisconsin - Madison for one year studying mechanical engineering and computer science. I left school to run a College Pro Painters franchise for a year, and when I closed my franchise at the end of the season, I moved to Vancouver, Canada to take the Programming for Games, Web and Mobile course at Vancouver Film School.
During this time I discovered a passion for working in the video game industry. I enjoy the combination of creative and technical skills required to excel, and the people who rise to that challenge are always interesting. In Vancouver I worked at Electronic Arts, Bandai Namco, Vancouver Film School, Under the GUI and Hellbent Games. I left Hellbent in spring of 2023 to co-found a new company called Riverwind Studios.
Since returning to the US, I worked at Striking Distance Studios and have been working on side projects: indie games, small commercial websites, and custom Discord bots that support online communities.
